Meet the Recruiter: Becky Suid
Talent Acquisition Specialist Becky Suid loved her work at Healthcare IT Leaders so much that she chose it twice. A resource manager and recruiter for finance and accounting professionals for 10 years prior, Becky was one of Healthcare IT Leaders' first employees (a recruiter for consultants) in 2011. She left in 2012 to spend more time at home with her two daughters, ages 6 and 8. A few months ago, she came back as a recruiter for the company's expanding permanent placement side, so now Becky, a University of Georgia graduate, has a lot of college football talk, ping-pong games and happy hours to catch up on.
Q: How did you get here (to Alpharetta and Healthcare IT Leaders)?
A: I moved to Atlanta right after college for a job in recruiting. I met some future coworkers at my children’s daycare, and they told me about a job opening at Healthcare IT Leaders when they found out what I did for a living.
Q: What is your favorite company memory?
A: More than just one memory, I love the unexpected things that come with placing talented people into great jobs, and I love how my co-workers make me laugh.
Q: If you weren’t recruiting, what career would you have?
A: I actually love to work retail, so I would probably sell clothes at J. Crew … and take advantage of that store discount.
Q: What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
A: I like to play tennis, cook and hang out with my family. I love to be at the softball field with my two girls.
Q: What was your favorite TV show when you were little?
A: The Cosby Show – it was just so funny. I also loved The Facts of Life.
Q: What’s your favorite food or favorite kind of food?
A: Italian – I love heavy Italian food, especially anything seafood.
Q: If you could be an animal, what animal would you be and why?
A: I’d probably be one of my dogs because they live quite the life. I have two Cairn terriers, Jack and Arnie. (In case you can’t tell, my husband’s a golfer.)
Q: Least favorite animal and why?
A: I don’t like snakes, and I really don’t like cockroaches. I’m from Savannah and they’re all over the place there.
Q: What would you do or buy if you won the lottery?
A: I’d buy a bed and breakfast somewhere on the Atlantic side of Florida, near St. Augustine, and I'd make scones for the guests. I have some scone ideas in mind.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about recruiting?
A: I like developing relationships with the candidates and the feeling I get helping them with their careers.
Q: If your life was a movie, who would play you?
A: Jenna Elfman – I’ve been told I look like her.
Q: What about you would surprise your coworkers?
A: I’m really crafty with a glue gun. I like felt and wreaths. I just may bring each of my coworkers a wreath for the holidays.
