Meet the Recruiter: Lindsey Gray
An Ohio native, Consultant Advisor Lindsey Gray graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Bennett College in Greensboro, N.C. After college, Lindsey relocated to Atlanta to live with her aunt while she figured out her next step.
Whether it was the Atlanta Falcons football fanaticism (Lindsey’s a die-hard Falcons and Ohio State Buckeyes fan) or just meeting great people at her first job at Locum Leaders (a physician staffing company co-founded by the principals of Healthcare IT Leaders), Lindsey decided to make Atlanta her permanent home, where she enjoys recruiting, socializing – and giving back to the community.
Q: How did you get to Healthcare IT Leaders?
A: Once I moved to Atlanta, my aunt introduced me to Christine Devine, who recruits for Locum Leaders. Through Christine, I was able to get in contact with Karen Belote, the VP for Locum Leaders. I started off working for Locum Leaders and then transferred to Healthcare IT Leaders in June.
Q: What is your favorite HIT Leaders company memory?
A: I’ve only been with Healthcare IT Leaders for six months, but the day-to-day life here makes for a great work environment. Everyone wants everyone else to succeed. It’s very encouraging.
Q: Who would you most like to meet, in history or current?
A: My grandfather.
Q: What’s your favorite thing to do outside of work?
A: Serving and volunteering at church. Just giving back in general.
Q: What was your favorite TV show when you were little?
A: The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
Q: What’s your favorite food or favorite kind of food?
A: Italian food
Q: If you could be an animal what animal would you be and why?
A: An eagle. They rise above every other bird and soar to the highest altitudes all alone. To me, they symbolize pushing past every obstacle that ever tries to pull you back down. Sometimes you have to fly by yourself. You will never see an eagle flying in a pack.
Q: Least favorite animal and why?
A: Snakes. I don’t like how they look. They’ll appear innocent one moment and attack you the next. I don’t trust them.
Q: What would you do or buy if you won the lottery?
A: Give to my father’s church and my local church as well. Also, give to charity and pay off student loans.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about recruiting?
A: Talking and getting to know people. I love helping them find their next project!
Q: If your life was a movie, who would play you?
A: I love Kerry Washington because she is such a versatile actress. I’ve seen her act in so many different roles, and I love how she can play so many different parts, and I believe her every time. So when I think of someone who would play me in a movie I think of someone who is well-rounded and can adapt in every situation and environment. Love her.
Q: What about you would surprise your coworkers?
A: I really love working with the youth. I started mentoring and teaching at my dad’s church when I was in high school. I also LOVE cars, all cars. I love to go fast – in safe environments.
