Most IT Contractors Earn $100K or More
For the third year in a row, IT contractors report annual pay of $100,000 or more.
According to a Dice survey, 54% of contractors earned at least $100K in 2013, up from 51% the previous year and 50% in 2011.
Salary data for all IT professionals (contractors and full-time employees combined) show 35% earned six figure salaries in 2013, up from 33% the previous year and 28% in 2011.
“Technology is now driving the customer experience for companies,” said Shravan Goli, president of Dice. “The more technology professionals can impact the financial performance of a company, the more they deserve to be paid.”
More companies have turned to tech contractors over the past few years, but at a higher cost. Average contractor hourly pay jumped 3.6% last year to $65.87 an hour.
